TENNIS – Federer started his 2012 Cincinnati campaign with a 6-3 6-2 win over Bogomolov. Murray dismissed Querrey 6-2 6-4 and Djokovic defeated Seppi 7-6 6-2. In the women's draw, Radwanska eliminated Arvidsson 6-4 6-3 and Kvitova won against Barthel 3-6 6-2 7-5. By Paul Sassoon

Baker and Giorgi post Upsets in Cincinnati

TENNIS – Brian Baker caused the upset of the day in the men's draw defeating Philipp Kohlschreiber 7-6(7) 7-6(3). The American will play Tomic next. Potential Murray-Federer Clash in Cincy

TENNIS – Roger Federer will be the first seed at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati.Fourth seed David Ferrer is in the top half of the draw with the Swiss. Canadian Open champion Novak Djokovic is the second seed and could play Andy Murray in the semifinals. By T.A. Niles

TENNIS – Friday was a busy day at the Rogers Cup in Toronto after no third round matches were completed on Thursday due to rain.
