JOURNALIST: Did you know what day you would be playing (in New Haven)?
FLAVIA PENNETTA: I ask Tuesday start. You make your request and then you see if it is possible or not.

Q. Have you been in this situation before?
FLAVIA PENNETTA: I don’t remember but I think maybe one time or two times.

Q. How do you get from here to New Haven that quickly?
FLAVIA PENNETTA: Huh, drive?

Q. How many spectators were there today (for their doubles final)?
GISELA DULKO: Between 50 and 100 people. Yeah, it was weird, but I think we prefer this than sit around, waiting and not playing, for the second day in a row. We were happy to play.

Q. What did you guys do to entertain yourselves (while waiting for the rain to stop)?
FLAVIA PENNETTA: She sleep (pointing to Dulko, laughter).
GISELA DULKO: The last two days I slept four hours.
FLAVIA PENNETTA: I don’t know. We talk, we go on the computer, we play ping pong – we do whatever we can to (pass the time).
GISELA DULKO: And sleep (laughter).

Q. How difficult is it for you to go through this, to play your games, finally, and then turn around and head to another tournament with no days off?
FLAVIA PENNETTA: Well, for me it is different because I don’t play singles next week. I just play doubles.
GISELA DULKO: We are used to doing that because we play a lot of tournaments in a row. If you keep going, you have to be ready for the next week. If you win some matches in one tournament, maybe you will be tired in the next one, but you try to recover your best, with physiotherapy, massage and you have a lot of things to help you in this situation.

Q. Two games in the same day. That must be tiring?
FLAVIA PENNETTA: We practice more by playing two matches (laughter).
GISELA DULKO: We are used to it.

Q. You have the physical endurance to do that?
FLAVIA PENNETTA: Yeah, and it doesn’t happen every week. It’s OK.

Q. You play your game tonight and you go to New Haven tomorrow?
FLAVIA PENNETTA: I go tonight, after the match. She goes tomorrow

Vanni Gibertini. It’s a six hour drive.
FLAVIA PENNETTA: I know (laughter). (For drivers) I have my coach, the physiotherapist... We are two cars, five people. We are going to switch.
