Andy Murray must win seven matches in four days if he wants to win two Olympic gold medals.
The British No 1 came from a set down to beat Marcos Baghdatis in the third round of the men’s singles, but his first-round mixed doubles match with Laura Robson was cancelled.
The delay means Murray must cram in four mixed doubles and three singles matches before Sunday evening if he wants to get on the podium twice.

Just to lighten the load, the Wimbledon finalist is also due to play in a hard court tournament in Toronto next Wednesday.
Murray said: ‘Playing one mixed match each day would be the best case scenario, but I’m not sure what will happen. I’m trying not to get ahead of myself because I really want to do well here.
‘If you win medals you have to stay in London the following day so that would mean not getting to Toronto until Tuesday night and then playing Wednesday.
‘If you don’t play you get fined, but I care a lot more about the Olympics than about next week.’

Murray said he watched Britain’s Olympic success in the rowing and cycling before he went out to face Baghdatis but was wary of such motivation inspiring dreams of gold medals, rather than the actions that can actually secure them.
Murray said: ‘Everyone always says don’t try to hold trophies before you win them. I certainly haven’t held the Wimbledon trophy yet and I haven’t held any gold medals, either.’

Murray began slowly against Baghdatis, whom he beat in four gruelling sets under the Centre Court roof at Wimbledon this year. The conditions could not have been more different from that late night encounter, which finished at 11.02pm. It was bright, breezy and fresh yesterday and Murray looked sluggish as he lost the first set, admitting he felt ‘very uncomfortable’.
The 25-year-old lost his opening service game, beguiled by a beautiful backhand drop shot and beaten by an acute cross-court winner from Baghdatis, who served out the second game to love.

Murray broke back but then found himself 0-40 down in the seventh game. He gifted theCypriot another break of serve with an over-hit forehand.

The second set, though, saw a more measured Murray. The manner of his first break of serve in the fourth game was a little fortunate as Baghdatis slammed a volley into the net, but the Scot raced through to 6-1 and then began the third set with a diving forehand volley.

It may have been a bit of a show for the crowd but it worked — Murray went on to gain the break of serve and then wrap up the match.
The British No 1 plays 11th seed Nicolas Almagro of Spain in today’s quarter-final, with the winner due to face Novak Djokovic or Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Friday. Djokovic yesterday lost the first set to an inspired Lleyton Hewitt before coming through 4-6, 7-5, 6-1.
